I went to the National Gallery of Art yesterday because it’s hard to go too long without seeing in person my four favorite paintings, The Voyage of Life by Thomas Cole.

Also, there was this, which is meticulous and amazing.
Auguste Renoir, Odalisque.
I have a real problem with sculpture galleries because I love them, but I’m incredible tactile, and I need to touch each one, but I’m not allowed to, so mostly I walk through them with my arms crossed and my nails digging into my elbows. Randolph Rogers’ Nydia, the Blind Girl of Pompeii was a particular difficulty.
